‘Hollywood star’ who helped ‘save’ ‘Gangnam’ star says he is ‘a hero’
The Hollywood star who helped save the life of Gangnam Style’s Choi Jae-hwan, says he will return the favor to the Korean pop star and her fans, who helped her during her critical illness.
Choi Jae-ho told the Los Angeles Times that he and his wife, Choi Jae Hwan, helped Choi’s father, a doctor, save her from an infection in May.
The couple was visiting her in the intensive care unit of a Los Angeles hospital when Choi’s mother visited.
“She called me and said, ‘Your son is suffering and you are the one who saved his life,’ ” Choi Jae Ho told the Times.
He and his family visited Choi on the same day, Choi’s parents said.
Choi’s husband, Kim Ji-min, helped bring Choi to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with pneumonia, according to the Times article.
“Choi’s mother told her, ‘You can’t take it anymore,'” Choi Jae Hoo said.
“She asked me to come and bring her a medicine that would keep her alive for a long time.”‘

Choa’s parents, Kim and Lee Hyun-chul, have since moved to Los Angeles and attended the wedding of Choi Jae’s younger brother.
Choan is expected to return home to Korea in early June, the Times reported.
The actress, who is the younger sister of actor Park Bom, had been hospitalized in a coma since May, when her husband, who she was dating, contracted pneumonia.
She underwent surgery on May 20, but died on June 10, a day after her first surgery.
Choong, who was in a stable condition at the time of her death, was diagnosed as having Type 2 diabetes, a complication of the autoimmune disease.
